Cooperstown is just 15 minutes from The Farm.

Glimmerglass Opera has been called the best summer opera facility in America.  It is a jewel box facility featuring world famous performers.  Before the performance enjoy a picnic on the 43 acres of rolling land leading down to Lake Otsego.

Fenimore Art Museum  Home to the Thaw collection of Native American Art and featuring a gallery from the Hudson Valley school, this museum will captivate you for an entire day.  Take a break for lunch on the veranda and appreciate the eye candy of the rolling hills and the Lake.

Farmers Museum  Go back in time to this restoration farming village.  Learn about spinning and weaving, natural herbal cures, paper making and blacksmithing.  Ride the carousel.  See the famous Cardiff Giant.  Milk a cow.  Feed a chicken.

Baseball Hall of Fame  If you enjoy baseball, you will not want to miss the Baseball Hall of Fame.  Sports enthusiasts travel from across the country to learn more about their favorite sport.

Within 20 minutes from Aunt Karen’s farm, find historic landmarks such as Hyde Hall, lakes for boating, fishing and swimming and beautiful golf courses. The park is only 2 minutes away by car or a fast bike ride.

Gilbert Lake State Park  Maybe you want to be closer to home for the afternoon.  Just one mile down the road is Gilbert Lake State Park with its crystal clear motorless lake for swimming and 12 miles of trails for hiking.

You may want to venture an hour out.

Madison Wind Farm  Just an hour away is the Madison Wind farm.  See these magnificent windmills as each one provides renewable power for 10,000 homes while hay fields flourish or cows graze beneath them.

Howe Caverns  The caverns have been evolving for 10 million years.  Travel deep into the earth and see this magnificent natural wonder.
